Construction Calculators
Fast construction calculators for concrete, cement, bricks, steel and cost estimation. Accurate tools for builders and engineers.
About Our Construction Calculators
Material math with the industry's standard constants: asphalt at 145 lb per cubic foot of compacted hot mix, concrete volumes converted exactly between imperial and metric, and cement bag counts using the 1.54 dry-volume factor across the common 1:2:4, 1:3:6, and 1:4:8 mix ratios. Each calculator page includes a reference table you can take to the supplier.
Two ordering rules save the most money: add 5–10% to any computed quantity for waste and compaction, and check supplier minimums before finalizing — ready-mix trucks typically charge short-load fees below about 3 m³, which can make bagged concrete cheaper for small slabs.

Construction Calculators — FAQs
How much extra material should I order?
Add 5–10% over the computed quantity for waste, spillage, and compaction. Go toward 10% for irregular shapes, first-time pours, or asphalt (which compacts), and toward 5% for simple rectangular slabs with experienced crews.
Are these estimates or final quotes?
Estimates — accurate for the geometry and standard densities you enter, but they can't see site conditions like soft subgrade, over-excavation, or delivery minimums. Use them to sanity-check contractor quotes: the material quantity should be close, and big gaps deserve an explanation.
Do the tools handle both metric and imperial units?
Yes — every construction calculator accepts both (square feet or square metres, inches or centimetres) and converts internally using exact factors, so you can enter measurements the way your plans are drawn.
